About Neil Muscott
|
For nearly 20 years Neil has taught adult evening courses to people from all walks of life.
He has also taught and coached professional performers, ranging from actors and musicians to clowns and circus artists.
Here are comments from some of the performers he has worked with.
"Besides being an interesting clown himself, Neil has an excellent directorial eye and great comedic sensibilities.
He directed my audition piece which helped me get into Cirque du Soleil. I highly recommend studying clown with Neil."
-Helen Donnelly, VIP clown with Cirque du Soleil's Dralion
"Neil's class has given me a whole new medium in approaching performance. His approach to teaching allows myself, as a performer to explore the many possibilities of characters through clown. His classes have added value to every one of my performances. Through clown I've been able to add the extra dimension needed for audience/ performer interactions!"
-Rebecca Carney, Circus Orange
"Personal Clown was the perfect choice for me. I have learned some extremely valuable tools which I can incorporate into my stage performance. Plus, I'm having so much fun, I don't want this class to end! What a treat it was to work and play with such an amazing teacher."
-Josie Vint, singer/songwriter
"The improv and clown training I pursued with Neil allowed me to navigate an emotional and creative pathway I may not have discovered otherwise. I believe the body and mind to be connected and the mastery over the one without the other leaves one a little flat. I feel my physical training is greatly improved by the characters which improv and clown helped me discover. I would encourage any serious circus performer to try clown and improv training to deepen their level of performance."
-Chris Taylor, circus artist
"Neil's workshop has been incredibly helpful to me by teaching the craft of the clown turn, exploring emotions and themes in clown and providing opportunites to workshop new turns in a safe and constructive envoironment. I have found improvements in all aspects of performing since begining to study clown. I am a more confident musician, a more expressive actor and a more honest improvisor. I highly recommend to all types of performers to consider clown training as a way to improve your connection to your audience."
-Dave McKay
"As a performer, I tend to plan a lot of my material, but in Neil's class I had fun discovering through improv and play, which was very freeing. Neil also gives good tips to build on and help performance. This workshop has helped to strengthen my skills as well as keeping me actively creative. I highly recommend it."
